The Hill Country is the jewel of Texas. Not only does it have beautiful flowers along the roads, it also has a few stars. You might be surprised to hear we have everything from camels to zebras, so keep your eyes open on your road trip. You just may discover inspiration and meet a Lone Star of Texas.

Today's journey was all about the "Llano Eagles". The eagles however were not in on that plan and they were not on their nest. Since I had my camera along we decided it was a good opportunity to stop and see the camel at the corner of FM 1431 & Hwy. 29. This Texas resident shares her home with a donkey. No doubt two out of work character actors for the occasional Christmas or Easter pageant.

I had noticed how curious this camel was, she would watch as cars passed by.  This camel seemed to have a lot of personality and was definitely an actor. She was showing off.  What an interesting character, surely she had a desire for attention, so I walked across the highway and stuck my camera through the fence. The camel looked over at me then started walking towards me. I had heard that camels, or was that llama's could spit accurately. Regardless, I backed away from the fence. With all that excess saliva, I didn't stand a chance. So at a safe distance I took another photo just as the wind whipped up and tossed around that yuck. I mentioned something to her about all that slobber hanging off her chin, and then she spoke to me. I was so amazed at this camel's ability to speak I felt the need to share it with you. Not sure what she said but if I had to guess I'd say "CHEEZE". - Genoa
